The
Book of Wizardry
is a course in wizardry intended for
young people and beginners in the
magical arts. The course is taught
by a real practicing wizard, who
goes by the fictitious name of
Cornelius Rumstuckle. (The
real Cornelius Rumstuckle is a
schoolteacher living in Minnesota.)
The student must work to gain
knowledge in the form of adventures
and experiments. Fiction is cleverly
woven with non-fiction, and it is up
to the student to detect the hidden
truths. The 328-page book is full of
magical theory and applications
presented in an entertaining way.
The first part includes twenty-two
short sections on magical topics
with practical exercises describing
how to make simple tools and use
them, as well as charging and
purifying them. Most of the
information and tables of
correspondences are taken from
recognized Hermetic authors, such as
Arthur Waite and Eliphas Levi.
The book contains instructions for energy
work, meditation, visualizations,
and simple magic. The student will
also learn how to make wizard's
tools, discover their inner wizard's
name, switch on magical power, read
oracles, and activate the wizard's
Art of Memory.
