IMMORTALIST CLASS
Art Kunkin is starting a new series of classes in Joshua Tree, California. The class takes place every Tuesday starting April 22, 7 to 9pm, at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center, 59700 29 Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA 92252. Check Bulletin Board at entrance for room location. This new class will be much more than an ordinary sitting-down "meditation" teaching because everything will be presented within the framework of the life extension and immortalist techniques that I have been newly developing from my alchemical and other studies. As usual the focus of the class will be on practical techniques so that each student grows to be a person who can deal calmly and effectively with all the problems and projects one may encounter in life. The core teaching will be a profound Tibetan Dzogchen meditation system that is the most rapid way I know of to develop and balance one's emotions, mind and physical body with the aim of becoming a competent, effective, happy and lovable human being. The Vegas Vortex welcomes you to four days
and nights of incredible magical adventure

the details of this four day Fire Gathering.
This is our sixth annual MayFire
celebration. This is a special gathering,
for initiates, friends and family of fire,
only. If you
have never attended one of our
events before, you must be sponsored in to
this one by someone who has attended FireDance, Fire Tribe, Spirit Fire, or
Celebrate the
Spirit gatherings. The Valley
of Fire is Nevada's oldest State Park. It is
located only 50 miles northeast of Las
Vegas. The rough floor and jagged walls of
the park contain brilliant formations of
eroded sandstone and sand dunes more than
150 million years old. These features, which
are the centerpiece of the park's
attractions, often appear to be on fire when
reflecting the sun's rays. There are a
limited number of spaces for cars to park,
and a limited number of places where we can
set up our tents.

available. Know that we are limited in size
to 130 people, and that we are limited in
parking spaces too, so carpool, carpool,
carpool! Know that our food policy is
different, as per below.... and know that we
are so very excited to return to this
magickal place with you! We are moving
closer to self-sufficiency this year...
which means that the Vegas Vortex will be
providing breakfast just after sunrise on
Sunday morning, but ALL other meals will be
on your own. We encourage you to group up
with friends and take turns preparing meals
for your small group, and then come on down
to Area One to eat together. Thursday night
will be a community potluck dinner; please
be sure to bring a delicious dish to share
with friends, and whatever you need to serve
it. Some work-trade positions are available.

Join us for an amazing community experience
in the Magic of Fire Circle. Three all night
Fire Circles, a conscious progression of
ecstatic experience, and the Alchemical
Technique of Symbol, Rhythm, Movement and
Song. We have assembled an incredible group
of teachers, facilitators, and guides from
all over the world, to help spin the wheel
of our sacred relationships. One of the
elements that we most deeply cherish in the
Family of Fire is diversity of all sorts. In
celebration of the precious spice of our
diversity, we want to make a special point
of encouraging everyone to bring the full
range of their sonic delights: singing
bowls, didgeridoos, gongs, bells, chimes,
claves, shakers, frame drums, doumbeks,
talking drums, congas, jaw harps, bird
whistles, dancing crickets, fairy dust, moon
beams, and conch shells brimming over with
ocean waves. Bring your poems, your ritual
theatre, your chants, and your ears and eyes
to find the perfect place for each in the
natural flow of the night. May each of these
offerings emerge fluidly as a breeze from
the woods, swirling around the circle,
uniting players, dancers, and witnesses, and
then dissolving away like stars at dawn.
Together, we have the power to make space
for all of these aural wonders. Our
collective desire to bask in the musical
mirror of this diverse community will
blossom in mysterious nights of firelight
magic. Even silence, that most precious gem
in life's golden chain, will find its sacred
